Department: Veterinary Technology Location: Western Campus Reports To: Lab Supervisor, Veterinary Technology Recruitment Type: Internal Requisition ID: req6171 Employment Type: Student Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Days To Be Determined By Hiring Manager And Student Job Description: Learning Objectives: The goals of the Veterinary Technology Animal Care Project are: To increase veterinary technology students' proficiency in the basic animal care and husbandry skills that are required by the program accrediting agency and are necessary for program and job success. To promote an appreciation of the personal responsibility of Registered Veterinary Technicians to provide dedicated compassionate and thorough treatment to animals under their care. To allow animal patients in the Veterinary Technology Program increased contact with human care-providers in a non-threatening environment. To promote a spirit of teamwork and an attitude of honesty and professionalism when caring for patients and clients. Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester; Maintain satisfactory academic progress; Adhere to College's confidentiality policy; Successfully pass background/drug screening; Answer phone and take messages; Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing; Open and sort mail; Strong interpersonal communication skills; Willingness to learn new technology; Assist with special projects; Other duties as assigned.
