The VP Enterprise Effectiveness will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Enterprise Effectiveness internal consulting group, research and development team, and the Agile Center of Excellence in support of Highmark Health's overall transformation to improve and innovate work across the enterprise called thinkUP. This will include working to set the overall strategy for the group, identifying and scoping projects, delivering projects, and helping the business plan for implementation and value realization. Projects can span a wide breadth including operating model and organization design, process engineering and improvement, governance and metrics frameworks, automation (e.g., robotic process automation), new ways of working (e.g., agile), and introduction of new capabilities through research and development efforts. Projects will also vary from relatively simple projects within a particular business unit or function, to large, complex projects that cross multiple functions and business units. Additionally, the VP, Enterprise Effectiveness Strategy and Delivery will serve as a core member of the thinkUP leadership team helping to set overall strategy and objectives for the transformation program. The incumbent will bring consulting, analytic, leadership skills, and a client focused orientation to the position to provide thought leadership and operational management to the consulting group allowing the group to meet or exceed its key performance indicators. Essential Responsibilities Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority. Set overall strategy and direction for Enterprise Effectiveness group including strategic goals, capabilities, resources. Increase maturity of new and existing thinkUP capabilities including Agile, Research and Development, and scaling of new solutions from R&D capability area. Enhances business function objectives and supports the goal of improving business performance through increased collaboration and understanding of services provided/available to Highmark leadership. Formulates and communicates the strategies, services and high-level approaches that can be used to support the business transformation. Leads the core Enterprise Effectiveness function. Identifies and manages the function's team members, educates and empowers the team, and determines the team structural needs to align to the overall thinkUP transformation. Provides oversight/guidance to team members responsible for leading projects and teams, scanning the market, developing business cases, applying analytics metrics that help define structure and/or measure progress against KPIs/benchmarks. Manages organizational nuances to keep the team and business unit leadership properly focused on needed activities and goals. Ensures that Enterprise Effectiveness resources are most effectively applied by periodically reviewing project intake and resource allocation processes. Other duties as assigned or requested.
