Production Lab Assistant/General Operator

Join our dynamic team as a Production Lab Assistant/General Operator. You will play a key role in supporting quality specialists by processing samples, shipping, data entry, and equipment calibration. Ensure product quality meets the requirements of our Quality Plans and facilitate seamless workflow across departments. Responsibilities

Process and ship samples. Enter data accurately into systems. Calibrate and verify equipment. Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with Quality Plans. Print and prepare process orders, labels, and tags for packaging teams. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workplace. Coordinate workflow and resource allocation between shifts and departments. Assist other departments during downtime, including general operator tasks. Receive and process trucks hauling crops for weighing and unloading during September-October. Complete harvest activities such as husking and sorting. Operate dryer for crop drying within prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements. Shell and store crop from bins in the dryer facility. Supply Conditioning department with a constant seed supply. Apply appropriate treatment to seed. Label, tag, bag, and palletize seed from November-March. Enter inventory information into the computer. Stage seed for shipment in warehouse. Retag in-house seed and re-bag returned seed from April-August. Inspect and wash pro boxes to ensure they are clean and free of debris. Transition to warehousing and packaging roles starting in August. Essential Skills

Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. Capability to perform repetitive tasks. Able to sit and stand for long periods. Ability to climb stairs. Differentiation and recognition of colors. Proficiency in reading and speaking English. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Steel-toed shoes are mandatory. Must not be colorblind. Forklift experience is preferred. No formal education required. Smoking/tobacco products are strictly prohibited at the site. Why Work Here?

The work environment is agricultural, involving exposure to corn and insecticide dust. Be prepared for 12-hour shifts, with the requirement to stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 60 lbs. Our facility operates 24/7 with rotating shifts, ensuring that employees have time off for rest and recuperation. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Switz City, Indiana. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $22.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
