Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Analyst

This is a hybrid position and can be located in New Orleans, LA, Little Rock, AR, Jackson, MS, or The Woodlands, TX. Relocation assistance and sponsorship is not provided. The official job title for this position will be IT Consultant. Position Purpose: Responsible for maintaining the modeling components of the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) used by Utility Operations at Entergy as well as Outage Assist (formerly Storm Assist). The role is primarily responsible for support of the daily modeling process that builds and delivers high-quality, foundational data needed to operate the ADMS. The role requires an in-depth understanding of Advanced Distribution Management Systems, real-time SCADA systems, and electric distribution networks. Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility: Provide operational support, ensuring production systems and devices are online and available; this includes non-business hours on-call support Analyze, develop, and implement solutions for system enhancements; Conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements Provide an interface with software vendors for discussion, consultation, problem solving and best upgrade practices on the 3rd party systems Design computer system solutions to solve complex business problems Perform necessary investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine project feasibility Develop procedures for the solution of complex and difficult problems or systems with a high level of reliability and execution speed Ensure the development of computer and information system plans that capitalize on the installed technology base and prudently employ new technology Provide customer support and services for problem reporting, service requests and inquiries Provide project and vendor oversight and facilitate communications with other internal organizations including, but not limited to compliance, security, legal and procurement Conduct business analytical studies to integrate business needs into system wide development plans to ensure the System Business Unit needs are met Analyze user processes and requirements to identify, design and implement process improvements Effectively communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing Actively assist in training and mentoring efforts on the team Participate in the team 24 hour on-call rotation Experience: 4-6 years' experience (or 5 years w/advanced degree) of relevant technology delivery with Subject Matter Expertise for Operational Technology (OT), specific to GE's Advanced Distribution Management System and/or Outage Assist application Proficiency in the design, development, and testing of ADMS/Outage Assist applications Strong understanding of ADMS/Outage Assist modeling components Strong understanding of client business needs and objectives Understanding, familiarity and/or experience with GIS systems Critical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment, including work outside of normal business hours Ability to support real-time systems Ability to support cyber security activities such as, system hardening, patch management, and configuration management Knowledge of security controls testing, security audits, and security assessments Ability to support of fraud and computer forensics research Leadership Style/Characteristics: Highly motivated and ability to work without direct supervision Effective Teamwork and Inclusion (e.g. works collaboratively, builds collaborative relationships) Very good written and oral communication skills Ability to act as a lead or technical expert Minimum Educational Background and Physical Requirements Required to perform Job: Bachelor's Degree or Experience Equivalent Primary Location: Louisiana-New Orleans Louisiana : New Orleans || Arkansas : Little Rock || Mississippi : Jackson || Texas : The Woodlands Job Function: Information Technology FLSA Status: Professional Relocation Option: No Relocation Offered Union description/code: NON BARGAINING UNIT Number of Openings: 1 Travel Percentage: Up to 25%
