Student Outreach Coordinator, Operations and User Services, University Of Cincinnati Libraries

The University Of Cincinnati Libraries (UCL) seeks a Student Outreach Coordinator to plan, design, evaluate, modify, and coordinate programs for Langsam Library and to provide functional supervision for the Langsam circulation desk evenings and Saturdays. This position will lead efforts to develop, implement and execute innovative programming and extracurricular outreach activities at UC Libraries. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, strong project management skills, and enthusiasm for creating engaging library programming. Design/create and conduct programming, events, and services to increase student engagement with UC Libraries. Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement. Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives by recommending and monitoring annual budget for extracurricular programs, managing travel arrangement and process expense reports and reimbursement Coordinate and facilitate student events and programs, including scheduling, room booking, preparing business documentation, communicating with audience on travel logistics, and other event-related arrangements Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports regarding outreach programming. Collaborate with communications team to develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants. Engage and collaborate with students, student organizations, staff, faculty, external agencies and other university departments. Represent the library at campus fairs, orientations, and other public and campus events as needed. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Functionally supervise student assistants on Saturdays and provide back up support during the week. Oversee Langsam Library study rooms and related administrative activities, including signage, 25Live, etc. Serve as member of the Access and User Services teams in Langsam Library, handling issues elevated from service desk and providing primary desk coverage, phone, and chat service as needed. Serve as facilities and public safety liaison as needed. Assist in maintenance of UCL website content, including LibGuides and Teams. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Bachelor's Degree. Five (5) years of Required Experience. Experience in a public library or in an academic setting, preferably in an academic/research library. MLIS is a plus. Experience with Ex Libris Alma / Primo. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly public speaking. Ability to work collaboratively. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member to assess and shift priorities and to adapt a demanding and rapidly changing environment and with multiple stakeholders.
