POSITION SUMMARYProvides prescribed medical treatment and personal careservices to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in the retirementand nursing community performing the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may berequired and assigned.Ensures resident rights, resident safety andresident security is the top priorityProvides services in accordance with stateassisted living standards and nurse practice actParticipates in pre-admissions assessments forpotential residentsParticipates in all in-service programs toexpand and develop abilitiesMaintains compliance with all personnelpolicies, established community policies and procedures, and Federal/Stateregulations and standardsUnderstands and implements the Fire Safety andDisaster Preparedness Plan and evacuation procedures of the community duringdrills and emergenciesPerforms admission and periodic assessments onresidents for functional and mental abilitiesDevelops service plans for residents based onneeds assessmentsReviews/revises assessments and service plans atchange in resident condition and at frequency determined by stateObtains and documents residents' vital signs andweight and intervenes appropriatelyAssists residents in scheduling medical, dentaland laboratory appointmentsAssists physician with resident examination asneededReviews and transcribes physician's ordersAdministers and documents medications inaccordance with the five rights: right medication, right route, right resident,right time, and right doseProvides medical treatments as ordered by thephysicianSupervises and monitors medications forresidents who self- administerObserves residents and reports condition changesto physicians, health care proxies, and supervisorsSupervises residents in self - care of medicalequipment, such as oxygen, catheters, colostomies, etcAssists residents with activities of dailyliving, bathing, dressing, and groomingResponds to resident and family inquiries andcalls for assistanceMaintains supplies to include ordering, stockingand monitoring for expirationDocuments services performed and suppliesprovided for billing purposesParticipates in risk management procedures forentire communityMaintains a safe, clean, orderly, homelikeenvironment for residentsParticipates in level of care committee andresident transfers between levels of careInteracts with residents, guests, and staff inan atmosphere of hospitalityMaintains confidentiality of residents' privatehealth informationOversee and manage the CNA's working with nursesassigned residentsManages CNAs lunches and breaksSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESMentors personal care aides and/or nursingassistants (CNAs)QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be ableto perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
