Your dream career awaits-apply today!Night and Weekend Differential.POSITION SUMMARYProvides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons in the retirement and nursing community performing the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.Ensures resident rights, resident safety and resident security is the top priorityProvides services in accordance with state assisted living standards and nurse practice actParticipates in pre-admissions assessments for potential residentsParticipates in all in-service programs to expand and develop abilitiesMaintains compliance with all personnel policies, established community policies and procedures, andFederal/State regulations and standardsUnderstands and implements the Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Plan and evacuationprocedures of the community during drills and emergenciesPerforms admission and periodic assessments on residents for functional and mental abilitiesDevelops service plans for residents based on needs assessmentsReviews/revises assessments and service plans at change in resident condition and at frequency determined by stateObtains and documents residents' vital signs and weight and intervenes appropriatelyAssists residents in scheduling medical, dental and laboratory appointmentsAssists physician with resident examination as neededReviews and transcribes physician's ordersAdministers and documents medications inaccordance with the five rights: right medication, right route, right resident,right time, and right doseProvides medical treatments as ordered by thephysicianSupervises and monitors medications for residents who self- administerObserves residents and reports condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisorsSupervises residents in self - care of medical equipment, such as oxygen, catheters, colostomies, etcAssists residents with activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, and groomingResponds to resident and family inquiries and calls for assistanceMaintains supplies to include ordering, stocking and monitoring for expirationDocuments services performed and supplies provided for billing purposesParticipates in risk management procedures for entire communityMaintains a safe, clean, orderly, homelike environment for residentsParticipates in level of care committee and resident transfers between levels of careInteracts with residents, guests, and staff in an atmosphere of hospitalityMaintains confidentiality of residents' private health informationOversee and manage the CNA's working with nurses assigned residentsManages CNAs lunches and breaksSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES•Mentors personal care aides and/or nursing assistants (CNAs)QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
