Works independently and collaboratively with members of the perinatal healthcare team to provide services to breastfeeding families. Provides Breastfeeding Support Services to patients, nursing staff, community and physicians. Functions as a member of the Prenatal Education Services Team. Daily Pay Options What you will need: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Michigan Certified: Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP) Preferred: International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) (required within 2 years) RN with three years experience in a perinatal services What you will do: Develop, implements and evaluate breastfeeding educational programs for patients and families, prenatally and postpartum Provides breastfeeding assessment, support and counseling to inpatients and outpatients Provide ongoing education and training for Birth Center staff and physicians Collaborates with Birth Center staff and leadership to develop, implement and update, as needed, standards of care related to breastfeeding.
