Program Leader

to support the implementation of "Capes Over Vapes" (COV), a grant-funded initiative made possible by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth. This three-year project aims to tackle the critical public health concern of teen vaping by fostering healthy lifestyles, empowering youth through peer education, and providing engaging, vape-free social events. Serve as a program leader and ambassador for the Capes Over Vapes initiative. Attend all monthly program committee and event planning committee meetings. Participate fully in all COV events (minimum of four per year between August and May), as well as any additional activities associated with the program. Assist in organizing, promoting, and delivering program activities and events. Represent the program at the Champion for Youth Summit in Reston, VA (May 4-6, 2026 - all expenses covered). Collaborate with staff, program partners, and other youth leaders to achieve program objectives. Maintain regular communication via email and/or other digital platforms. Contribute ideas and feedback for program development, outreach, and engagement. Desirable Training and Experience

Computer proficiency and familiarity with various software applications. Strong social media competency and the ability to create/facilitate digital outreach. Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team settings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective problem-solving skills. Commitment to the mission of youth health and prevention.
