Student Assistant - Alumni & Donor Events
The Cockrell School of Engineering Development Team is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to support the planning and execution of alumni and donor engagement events. This position is ideal for a student interested in event planning, nonprofit development, stewardship, or alumni relations. You will contribute to initiatives that strengthen connections between the school and its alumni, donors, and industry partners. This position is only open to Undergraduate and Undergraduate Work-Study Students. Position is available now and will continue through both the long semesters (Fall/Spring) Responsibilities
Assist with event logistics for alumni, donor, and stewardship events (on-campus and virtual), including event prep, execution and follow-up. Help prepare materials for events such as name tags, signage, printed programs, and event packets. Provide administrative support including calendar coordination, data entry, and meeting notes. Assist during events by greeting guests, managing check-in, and providing general support. Organize and maintain event records and documentation post-event. Collaborate with communications team to support event promotion via email and social media. Other duties as assigned related to development and alumni relations. Required Qualifications
Current undergraduate at UT Austin (Cockrell School of Engineering students preferred but not required). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Comfortable interacting with alumni, donors, faculty, and campus partners. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in event planning, customer service, or administrative support. Interest in development, alumni engagement, or university advancement. Familiarity with Texas Development Events Working Conditions
