Position Announcement Join Utah Valley University as a Tech & Database Assistant and play a key role in supporting the operational and technical backbone of Continuing Education programs, including Community Education, Professional Education, Executive Education, and ESL. Under the direction of the Technical and Database Supervisor, you will assist with maintaining databases, supporting registration systems, and contributing to IT-related functions that enhance program delivery and student experience.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, service-oriented environment where your technical skills will directly support diverse, non-credit learning initiatives. You'll gain valuable experience in systems support and data management while helping to advance UVU's mission to provide accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to the community. This position is located at the UVU Lehi Campus - 2912 Executive Parkway, Building 1. Summary of Responsibilities

Helps maintain databases for all courses, including input of all registration information, course information, images, facilities and costs, and any other needed data within target dates of major marketing distribution. Works within the Operations team and in collaboration with departments across Continuing Education to ensure timely and accurate input of data, and customer support. Provides comprehensive customer service to non-credit students and community customers. Registers students into requested courses using current database software, processes payments via the mobile card reader, works with walk-in customers/students, and answers general questions. Monitors course enrollments, fill rates, and waitlists. Conveys enrollments to program managers and manages course waitlists in conjunction with program managers. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree in a closely related field AND one (1) year of experience related to the Position Description, OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling two to three (2-3) years. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of HTML and registration databases such as CampusCE and ACEware. Knowledge of how to take and process payments securely using mobile card readers. Knowledge of email and calendar tools. Knowledge of student privacy rights as pertaining to FERPA Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Skills

Effective records and information systems organization and management. Proficient in data entry with strong typing skills. Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment. Effective communication skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with good organization and coordination techniques. Manage disputes or dissatisfaction within policy guidelines. Thorough understanding of basic computer programs. Abilities Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to work over the phone and in person. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to learn and use proprietary systems or databases. Ability to think creatively and explore improvements to processes and procedures.
