About the Counseling & Mental Health Center The Counseling & Mental Health Center (CMHC) offers the University of Texas at Austin's varied student population a variety of counseling options for their mental health and well-being to help them succeed during their academic career at the university. The Administrative Office within CMHC manages the behind-the-scenes operations for the center and supports directors, administrators and clinicians by ensuring they are equipped with the tools to accomplish the center's mission of serving UT's varied student population and contributing to their academic success. Important Notes: This position is open to work-study students only. This position will begin in Fall 2025, with the possibility of continuing employment after the 2025-2026 academic year. This position is in person at the Student Services Building (SSB). 19 hours per week $10.00 per hour Purpose By working closely with the CMHC Administrative Office, the successful candidate will contribute to high-quality service and support to staff, students and the campus community. Responsibilities As a CMHC Admin Student Assistant you will provide administrative support to CMHC and Administrative Office staff by: Assisting with set up/breakdown of events and meetings. Maintaining breakroom, event and janitorial supplies. Reviewing, requesting and distributing office supplies. Maintaining common areas & meeting rooms. Retrieving, sorting and distributing mail. Entering data, copying, scanning, faxing, filing and laminating. Researching assigned projects by utilizing and learning emerging technologies. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Current UT student with 3.0 GPA or higher. Sophomore classification, or higher. Available to work in-person approximately 19 hours per week, for shifts averaging 2-4 hours in length during the hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Ability to show up on time for scheduled shifts. Aptitude towards a strong work ethic, responsibility and accountability. Desire and ability to create a positive and upbeat atmosphere. Ability to set up and tear down agency events. Preferred Qualifications Previous administrative support experience. Microsoft Office experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal & organization skills. Ability to learn quickly and work independently. Interest in learning and developing career skills.
