The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE rheumatologist for a full-time appointment in a rapidly growing program that is part of a multispecialty academic practice setting. Responsibilities include patient care on the inpatient consultative service, outpatient practice, on-call coverage, and teaching. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound expertise is desirable. There may be opportunities for focused research. Excellent clinical and teaching skills are required, as instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows is integral to our clinical program.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: See new and follow-up patient visits, including consultations on the inpatient Rheumatology service. Manage patients in the outpatient Rheumatology faculty practice. Be assigned inpatient service time, approximately twelve weeks, with final determination made by the Division Chief. Activities will comprise 90% Clinical FTE (cFTE), including inpatient service at RWJUH and outpatient Rheumatology practice. Submit clinical charges and patient notes in a timely manner. Participate in scholarly activities such as teaching, research, quality improvement projects, and scientific presentations/publications (10%). Engage in education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in all academic and clinical activities of the Division. Participate in Department of Medicine and Medical School committees as appropriate. Attend Division and Departmental meetings, including faculty meetings, Grand Rounds, and recruitment sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chairman. Maintain a team-oriented approach that promotes partnerships, trust, and strong relationships. The anticipated salary range for this position is $240,000 to $250,000 per year. Salary will depend on educational background, skills, and professional experience.
