The Lead Senior Engineer position is located at our Byron Clean Energy facility in Byron, IL.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

In this role, you will perform advanced engineering problem-solving to support nuclear plant operations. As a vital contributor, you will make critical technical decisions and apply your extensive knowledge of industry codes and regulations to ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct advanced engineering and technical tasks supporting nuclear plant operations.
  • Carry out independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses for various technical projects.
  • Provide expert technical support to manage and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability, ensuring alignment with customer needs and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, maintaining proper configuration management and adherence to design criteria, practices, and codes.
  • Deliver technical expertise and consultation to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues.
  • Oversee and manage engineering tasks and issues effectively.
  • Introduce and recommend equipment, innovative concepts, and techniques to enhance performance, simplify constructions, reduce costs, and comply with code changes.
  • Support plant design modifications, testing, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure all engineering outputs are compliant with safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and lead supervisory activities, including personnel management, budget planning, and goal setting for engineering teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with exceptional performance history.
  • Approval from VP Engineering required for classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineering Registration or an advanced technical degree or coursework.
