The Senior Staff Civil Structural Engineer position is based out of our Byron Clean Energy facility located in Byron, IL.

Expected salary range for this role is $144,900 to $161,000, dependent on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including a bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Senior Staff Civil Structural Engineer will utilize advanced engineering problem-solving skills to support nuclear plant operations. This role is responsible for making technical decisions and requires superior knowledge of the relevant engineering discipline, alongside an excellent understanding of industry codes and regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct advanced engineering and technical tasks to support nuclear plant operations.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to enhance technical projects.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to manage and implement engineering activities that ensure plant safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of engineering work while adhering to standard design criteria and industry codes.
  • Offer direct technical expertise and support to identify and resolve equipment and system issues.
  • Manage engineering tasks, ensuring effective completion and communication.
  • Propose equipment or innovative concepts to enhance performance, reduce costs, or comply with evolving regulations.
  • Facilitate plant design modifications and troubleshoot engineering challenges.
  • Ensure that all created or overseen engineering products are compliant with relevant safety analyses and industry codes.
  • Oversee functional supervisory activities, including personnel management, budget accountability, and planning within engineering teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B. S. degree in engineering or equivalent Professional Engineer certification.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience with a track record of exceptional performance.
  • Approval from the VP of Engineering is required for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineering Registration and advanced technical degrees or coursework.
