The Airborne Systems Business Area of our Defense Sector has an opening for a cleared Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer . This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute your expertise with the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and various DoD initiatives. In this role, you will support our diverse range of programs through software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, and ground and flight testing, all aimed at deploying cutting-edge, next-generation solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer at Leidos, you will leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools in a dynamic environment to analyze and enhance the performance of future weapon systems within larger combat scenarios. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing and enhancing existing tools and models while developing new models for emerging systems.

  • Capturing, decomposing, and tracing system-level requirements.

  • Analyzing, defining, and refining system architectures and interfaces.

  • Creating detailed representations of system structure and behavior.

  • Collaborating effectively with government stakeholders as well as software, test, mechanical, and electrical teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years in systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering, or a related field.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • A current DoD TS clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI.

  • Experience in a Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environment.

  • Proficiency in SysML, preferably using Cameo/MagicDraw.

  • A strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging in individual or small group discussions.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM or Kanban.

  • Experience with Atlassian tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

  • OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals).

  • Experience with executable SysML simulation and scripting languages.

  • Familiarity with MBSE methodologies like Magicgrid.

  • Understanding of military Concepts of Operations (CONOPS).

  • Experience in a leadership capacity over other systems engineers is a plus.

Location: Beavercreek, OH

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
