$47,000 – $52,000/yr. Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Quality Control Inspector . This position plays a critical role in ensuring fabricated steel products meet all required codes, specifications, and customer expectations prior to delivery and installation. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality assurance within a steel fabrication environment, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings and industry standards. Primary Responsibilities:
Inspect fabricated steel components for compliance with shop drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Monitor welding, bolting, coating, and finishing processes during fabrication. Conduct visual inspections of layout, fit-up, weld size, and assembly quality. Verify adherence to AISC Code of Standard Practice and AWS welding codes. Inspect incoming materials for grade, shape, thickness, and conformity to specifications. Identify and tag non-conforming material; ensure separation and documentation. Confirm proper measuring tools and calibrated gauges are used during fabrication. Maintain traceability of materials and consumables; verify condition of paints and supplies. Monitor and report equipment safety issues and call for repairs as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and update quality control systems to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Support AISC certification processes, including audits and internal assessments. Create, update, and maintain non-conformance logs, inspection records, and safety reports. Enter inspection results and related data into Procore and other reporting systems. Guide production teams on quality measures and best practices for product improvement. Work collaboratively with production, safety, and engineering teams to resolve discrepancies. Ensure safety practices are followed and report incidents per OSHA and company protocols. Requirements Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year in a quality control inspection role within a steel fabrication environment. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop documents. Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures in steel fabrication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital reporting tools. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with AISC certification and welding codes. Experience supporting internal and external audits for quality and safety. Understanding of OSHA safety requirements in fabrication settings. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish Eligibility:
