Hoag Health System Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Benefits Specialist provides communications and vendor management support to the Benefits team related to major benefits areas such as 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, and Health & Welfare programs to ensure programs are running well and vendors are meeting service level agreements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Benefits Specialist provides communications and vendor management support to the Benefits team related to major benefits areas such as 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, and Health & Welfare programs to ensure programs are running well and vendors are meeting service level agreements.
Evaluates and manages workflow process, program documents and program policies.
Requires superior customer service, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Key functions include:
Manages all Health & Welfare, 401k and Wellness communications programs for both employees and providers, including creating and distributing communications, plan notifications, posting on applicable websites, managing applicable websites and portals, and managing annual calendar of communications. Administers the Hoag Tuition Reimbursement and the Back-Up Care programs, 3rd party vendor relationship and support, and program policy and updates. Serves as the point person for the program, field any questions from employees related to policy or service, manages program communications. Manage, organize and maintain Solution Bar and other 3rd party web pages for areas of focus assigned client group. Participates in Open Enrollment meetings and New Hire Orientations, primarily supporting Hoag employee events assigned client group. Serve as back-up for Benefits Team members. Ensure exceptional customer experience by responding in a timely manner to requests and escalated issues from employees and providers. Primary focus is with Hoag employees and leadership on the various Hoag plans assigned client group. Develop and/or maintain multiple Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate comprehensive training of the Benefits Team for areas of focus assigned client group. Participates in professional activities to keep abreast of changes in legislation & new developments in the field. Participates in strategic planning sessions to align benefits initiatives with organizational goals and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on healthcare benefits and medical plan management. In-depth knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, ACA, ERISA, and other relevant statutes.
Certifications Preferred
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
