Overview:
MV Transportation is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced
Safety and Training Operations Manager . In this role, you will play a pivotal part in implementing programs and procedures that align with both State and Federal regulations, as well as corporate and client policies. You will lead safety initiatives at the division level, focusing on OSHA and CDL compliance. Key Responsibilities: Champion training compliance for all operators, ensuring they stay updated with company and contract requirements. Maintain current safety manuals and programs to meet operational needs. Serve as the leading expert on EPA and OSHA regulations, demonstrating mastery in CDL compliance. Verify that all new hires meet the required qualifications, including background checks and DMV reviews. Utilize safety technology tools effectively, analyzing data trends to develop actionable plans aimed at reducing future incidents. Oversee corporate safety incentives and programs to ensure consistent management and assignment of Safety Points. Foster a safety-first culture across all operational departments, promoting shared responsibility for achieving common safety goals. Coordinate with corporate claims staff to manage liability and worker's compensation claims efficiently, focusing on minimizing financial exposure. Proactively manage employee injury claims to minimize lost time, and collaborate with medical facilities to facilitate quick returns to work. Ensure successful completion of audits conducted by corporate, client, and regulatory agencies. Lead instructional activities in safety training, covering both classroom and practical driving per corporate and client specifications. Qualifications: Experience in transit safety management. Background working in urban public transit is preferred. Experience in passenger transport in similar environments is highly desirable. A college degree or at least five years of relevant safety management experience. Certifications such as CDS (Certified Director of Safety) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are preferred. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and corporate safety policies. Ability to communicate effectively across all departments. Strong organizational skills with the ability to delegate and supervise effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills. A valid CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement and air brakes is required.
