Staff Software Engineer (Unity VR + Backend + Platform Infra) Location:

Dallas Fort Worth for hybrid working 2-3 days onsite per week Reports to:

$220K$275K + equity & bonus A fast-growing VR simulation product company is hiring a Staff/Principal/Lead Engineer to lead development across immersive Unity VR clients and the backend platform powering real-time virtual shooting experiences. With tens of thousands of paying users, this is a senior, full-stack role with significant ownership across gameplay systems, API architecture, and cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Build and optimize VR gameplay systems in Unity3D/C# (input, physics, performance) Manage AWS infrastructure (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3) with Terraform Design data pipelines, analytics tracking, and observability systems Own PostgreSQL/Redis data models for both real-time and analytical use Work closely with product/design to ship polished, high-impact features Mentor engineers and shape platform architecture Requirements: Approx. 3+ years backend service experience Deep Unity/C# experience, including performance tuning and profiling Strong backend architecture skills (Node.js/NestJS, REST/GraphQL APIs) AWS infrastructure and Terraform/IaC proficiency Product-focused, collaborative, and comfortable owning complex systems end-to-end Bonus Experience: Shipped multiplayer VR games (Quest/Meta) Real-time networking/multiplayer RPC systems Familiarity with analytics tools (Amplitude, Segment, PostHog) Why This Role: Rare mix of Unity VR and backend leadership Huge technical ownership on a high-growth platform Direct connection to a passionate user community Fast-moving team where your impact starts on day one Please apply with your resume if interested.
