Family Advocate I provides services to increase parent involvement in their child's education and provides support to staff in their work with children and families to help meet identified needs and goals. The Advocate strives to support and meet program goals and objectives in the areas of health, education, parent involvement, and social service referrals. Participate in implementation of a public awareness campaign to raise awareness of potential child abuse or neglect. Plan, prioritize and participate in providing family intake, need assessments, referrals, follow-up, and other related services. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives. Establish schedules and methods for providing services/programs. Implement policies and procedures. Maintain records and develop reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness. May assist with the preparation of monthly reports. Participate in training programs offered in conjunction with the Family Resources Center and other community agencies. May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and skills would be:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible office or clerical experience required. Previous experience working with children and families is preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Nevada driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the District.

This is a 40 hour per week, One Year Only position ending June 2026. Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills which includes being positive, patient and the ability to work well with children and adults. Bilingual skills in Spanish are also desired.
Benefit packages are available for all employees, eligible employees who are regularly scheduled to work 27.5 hours per week or more receive full benefits of the District which include but are not limited to;
