Position Specifics: Locations: San Francisco
Position Responsibilities The Middle Market Underwriting Account Representative (UAR) is responsible for supporting the underwriting process for New and Renewal Customers for multiple lines of insurance coverages, including property, casualty, workers compensation, excess lines, and automobile coverages. This position collaborates with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service, and producer/client management goals for an assigned book of business in the middle market segment of Commercial Insurance. The UAR gathers and analyzes account information, interprets, and translates data into rating and issuance instructions, and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations to align with corporate pricing strategies. The UAR assists with binding/issuance of New and Renewal business and documents the file appropriately in partnership with the Underwriter.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet navigation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse partners
Proven analytical skills and mathematical aptitude
Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
Ability to learn quickly, prioritize, and perform within time constraints
Attention to detail and strong time management skills
Basic knowledge of underwriting principles and policy forms is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Associate’s degree or higher preferred
1-2 years relevant insurance experience preferred
Additional Information This is an entry-level, full-time position in the Sales and Business Development function within the Insurance industry. Internal applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, including tenure and conduct history.
