What you'll do

As a Business Development Director you will drive growth and strategic partnerships for the future of non-terrestrial solutions across consumer handsets and automotive markets.

The day-to-day

You'll develop and execute business strategies that leverage Viasat's connectivity solutions to capture emerging market opportunities and establish strategic partnerships that advance our leadership in next-generation connectivity. Strategic Market Development:

Identify and evaluate opportunities in roaming and satellite/hybrid connectivity solutions to include OEM's, system integrators, NMO's and technology providers Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and services in target vertical markets and negotiate and structure complex partnership agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances Collaborate with automotive manufacturers, handset providers, and enterprise customers on integrated solutions Partnership & Alliance Management:

Lead complex sales cycles for enterprise and strategic accounts across target markets and drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and market expansion initiatives Develop and present business cases, proposals, and executive presentations to senior leadership and work with internal teams to align solutions with market needs Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to develop compelling value propositions and support product roadmap development with market insights and customer feedback Work with regulatory and spectrum teams on compliance/licensing requirements while also collaborating with legal, finance and operations team to help structure and execute deals

What you'll need

7+ years' experience in a Business Development, Sales, or Strategic Partnership role in a telecommunications, satellite communications or related technology industry Consistent track record of closing sophisticated deals and leading strategic partnerships Solid understanding of satellite communications technology and non-terrestrial networks Demonstrated experience with automotive connectivity solutions and D2D ecosystem partnerships Excellent negotiation and deal structuring capabilities with strong financial modeling and business case development skills Proven ability working effectively in cross-functional, matrixed organizations Experience resolving regulatory and spectrum management issues in satellite communications Proven knowledge of 5G, edge computing, and hybrid network architectures Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience Ability to work extended hours during critical deal negotiations and partnership discussions Ability to travel up to 50% of the time for customer meetings, industry events, and partner engagement

MBA or advanced degree preferred Background in automotive telematics, connected vehicle solutions, or mobility services Experience in consumer electronics and automotive markets Experience with venture capital, private equity, or M&A activities International business development experience Technical background in RF engineering, systems engineering, or related fields Experience with direct-to-device satellite solutions or terrestrial-satellite hybrid networks

Salary range

$183,000.00 - $289,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $227,500.00- $341,500.00/ annually
