Cloud Data Engineer
to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. Responsibilities
The Cloud Data Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of secure and scalable data pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments. This role enables advanced analytics, decision-making, and mission readiness by ensuring high-quality, accessible, and policy-compliant data. The engineer works closely with data scientists, analysts, and security teams to implement solutions that align with DoD cybersecurity standards and enterprise data strategies. Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Informatica. Develop data integration processes across structured and unstructured sources (e.g., sensors, logs, databases). Design secure, scalable data storage solutions using data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming platforms. Leverage SQL, Python, and Spark to process and transform large datasets. Ensure compliance with DoD data governance, RMF, and FedRAMP standards. Maintain metadata, data catalogs, and access controls using tools like AWS Lake Formation, Azure Purview, or Collibra. Monitor pipeline performance, implement data quality checks, and resolve processing issues. Work with security teams to implement encryption, masking, and auditing for sensitive data. Support 24/7/365 operations at Doral, FL, COOP, Exercises, and Deployments. Required
4-9 years of experience and HS or AA/AS or BA/BS or MA/MS Desired
Bachelor’s degree in data science, Analytics, or Software Engineering. Certification
IAT Level 2 or higher AWS Data Analytics - Specialty Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) Compensation
Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
