Trustar Bank has a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for accounts payable activities of the Bank. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be a member of the Accounting and Finance team and have exposure to all areas of accounting & finance for the Bank with a primary focus on AP. The Accounts Payable Assistant will follow all established policies and procedures of the Bank. Summary of Job Duties: Primarily responsible for daily AP processing. Accounts Payable Reconciliations. Creates Journal Entries and assists with posting process. Performs general accounting functions; monitors, reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation. Maintains accounting records, reports, and files in an organized manner. Assists with monthly close activities. Assists with internal and external auditor requests. Assist with State and Federal Examiner requests. Ensures compliance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Assigned special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, in Accounting or other relevant area. Minimum 3 years’ experience in General Accounting, banking experience preferred. Experience with processing accounts payables and account reconciliations. Strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
