What You Will Be Doing...
The Corporate Controller is responsible for the preparation, review, and distribution of management company financial reports in accordance with GAAP, Hospitality Ventures accounting standards, and procedures. This role also manages accounting for all JV partnerships, ensuring timely communication of investment results and distributions. The Corporate Controller will collaborate with auditors and tax preparers for the JV and management company and support all investors with ad-hoc requests.
Additional Responsibilities
Ensure all corporate financial statements are prepared in accordance with standards, reviewed for accuracy, and distributed timely.
Produce quarterly management company financial reports including contract analysis and quarterly review for Rockbridge.
Calculate distributions as required by JV agreements, distribute, and communicate calculations promptly.
Facilitate quarterly investor reporting packages with Operations and Business Development.
Produce quarterly cash forecasts for all JVs and project financial distributions.
Maintain JV financials monthly, ensuring invoices are recorded and paid on time.
Establish and maintain initial investor positions.
Coordinate with regional controllers on sold investments for proper accounting and timely closure.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensure accuracy, and post adjustments timely.
Work with external auditors for the audit of corporate financials.
Manage annual tax returns for HVMG and JVs, and communicate status with investors.
Ensure K-1s are provided to investors.
Process corporate invoices and expense reports.
Handle miscellaneous deposits and corporate journal entries.
Create accruals for month-end close, prepare allocations and prepaid accounts.
Manage corporate credit card transactions and split billing for hotel expenses.
Create invoices for hotel billings and process monthly AP for properties.
Maintain corporate accounts receivable and ensure timely collections.
Manage insurance certificates and policies for properties and lenders.
Prepare property data for policy audits and reports as needed.
Review fixed asset additions and update depreciation schedules.
Oversee corporate receivables, communicate risks to CFO.
Maintain attendance in accordance with HV standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in business, preferably in finance or accounting; equivalent experience acceptable.
CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or corporate/regional settings.
Experience with Sage Intaact, ProfitSword, and Hotel Effectiveness highly preferred.
Extensive knowledge of financial statement prep, accounts payable, payroll, and hospitality back-end systems highly preferred.
