The Consulting Manager, Strategic Performance Initiatives – Rankings Optimization will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing MUSC Health’s Rankings Optimization Program. This role will focus on driving improvement in national healthcare rankings such as U.S. News & World Report, CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog, and Vizient. The Consulting Manager will lead cross-functional performance assessments, facilitate improvement initiatives, and ensure alignment with MUSC Health’s strategic objectives. Job Description Summary

The Consulting Manager, Strategic Performance Initiatives – Rankings Optimization will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing MUSC Health’s Rankings Optimization Program. Job Description

Lead the design, development, and launch of a system-wide Rankings Optimization Program. – Weight: 20% Success Criteria: Program launch within 6 months with defined scope, stakeholders, and governance. Create a tiered approach for rankings with defined prioritization (e.g., Tier 1, 2, 3) and accountability. – Weight: 15% Success Criteria: Tier structure developed and adopted by system leaders with clear ranking tier definitions. Facilitate governance and review processes for data submission, performance gaps, and action plans. – Weight: 15% Success Criteria: Quarterly governance meetings established with documented actions and outcomes. Serve as the primary liaison between internal consulting, system performance, and quality teams. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Documented collaboration workflows and stakeholder satisfaction with coordination. Conduct performance analysis and benchmarking against peer institutions. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Quarterly reports delivered with actionable insights and comparative benchmarks. Identify drivers of rankings and support improvement strategies across departments and service lines. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Improvement plans implemented in at least 3 key departments based on ranking drivers. Develop standard workflows for rankings review and reporting. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Workflows adopted by all major stakeholders with automated or standardized templates. Collaborate with marketing, clinical, and administrative leaders to enhance performance perception and positioning. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Improved communication and reputation metrics tracked via stakeholder surveys and external feedback. Monitor trends in national rankings methodologies and adjust internal strategies accordingly. – Weight: 10% Success Criteria: Timely updates to internal processes and playbooks in response to methodology changes.

Additional Job Description

5-7 years of relevant experience required

Masters Degree or Bachelors with atleast 5 years of relevant experience required

Administrative experience preferred; Fellowship qualifies for 3 years of relevant experience

Academic Health System And/or Internal Consulting Experience Preferred
