Senior Manager, Production Equipment Diagnostics & Repair

Job DescriptionJob Description Summary The Senior Manager – Production Equipment Diagnostics & Repair is responsible for driving strategies to reduce equipment and process downtime across the ice cream production facility. This role leads a team of 3–5 skilled industrial mechanics and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure equipment reliability and smooth production flow. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in industrial mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, along with proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. Duties and Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3-5 industrial mechanics. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment Develop and manage equipment components rebuild program (gearboxes, air cylinders, motors, pumps, heater heads, etc.) Direct and manage all proactive maintenance and troubleshooting efforts focused on reducing unplanned downtime. Train all team members in downtime elimination techniques, root cause analysis, and preventive strategies. Collaborate closely with Operations, Sanitation, Quality Assurance (QA), Engineering, and

teams to align goals and ensure seamless coordination. Improve and manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify chronic issues and lead corrective actions. Support capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades that improve reliability and efficiency. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, downtime events, and resolution strategies. Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies. Act as a hands-on technical leader, providing guidance in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting when needed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years (10 ) of hands-on experience as an Industrial Mechanic with a strong foundation in electrical systems . Proven leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. (minimum 5 years) Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical systems, motors, conveyors, pumps, PLCs, and electrical control circuits. Demonstrated success in leading downtime reduction initiatives or continuous improvement projects. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Working knowledge of CMMS systems is a plus. Must be proactive, analytical, and results driven. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in cold, wet, and noisy environments typical of an ice production facility. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work, including climbing ladders and standing for extended periods. Availability for occasional off-shift or weekend support as needed.
