Description Position Summary The Vice President of Technology is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of Vertex’s IT environment. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable technology operations across infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and M&A integrations. The VP will also build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a service-oriented culture that supports the company’s growth and evolving technology needs. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Team Leadership Set the vision and direction for IT strategy in alignment with business goals. Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled IT team focused on Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the IT function. Lead resource planning, budgeting, and vendor relationships. Infrastructure & Operations Management Manage company-wide IT operations including networks, servers, hardware, software, AV systems, and printers. Ensure high system availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness. Oversee help desk services to ensure timely and effective support for all employees. Cybersecurity & Risk Management Develop and enforce cybersecurity protocols and response plans. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement controls to safeguard company data and systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations. Enterprise Applications & System Integration Lead the implementation and optimization of ERP, CRM, and other core business systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align technology solutions with operational goals. Ensure data integrity, workflow efficiency, and cross-system compatibility. Acquisition Technology Integration Manage IT due diligence and onboarding for acquisitions. Standardize and integrate new entities into the company’s infrastructure and systems. Minimize disruption and support rapid scalability during M&A activities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s a plus). 10+ years of progressive IT experience with 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in leading IT teams, managing infrastructure, and implementing enterprise systems. Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, cloud technologies, and systems integration. Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Travel of up to 20% of the time may be required.
