A rapidly growing infrastructure and field services company is looking for a Head of Technology & Systems to architect and execute the next phase of IT modernization and scalability. This leader will oversee enterprise systems, cybersecurity, M&A integration, and digital enablement initiatives to support operations across a multi-site, field-intensive business.
About the Role
This role involves key responsibilities that include owning the development and execution of a scalable IT strategy aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities
Own the development and execution of a scalable IT strategy aligned with business goals
Lead all aspects of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, Field Ops), and cybersecurity
Drive post-merger integration of systems, data, and teams across newly acquired entities
Oversee the modernization of legacy systems, cloud migration, and implementation of tools to support field productivity and back-office efficiency
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, HR, and legal to ensure systems support performance and compliance
Build and manage a small but capable IT team and partner with external vendors as needed
Develop and manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, SLAs, and licensing compliance
Ensure data security, system uptime, and disaster recovery best practices are in place
Qualifications
12+ years of progressive IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior decision-making role
Proven experience overseeing IT in distributed, field-based or route-based service industries (e.g., environmental, utilities, waste, transportation, telecom, construction)
Demonstrated success in leading systems integration and technology standardization during M&A
Strong experience across ERP, CRM, cloud infrastructure, data architecture, and mobile workforce tools
Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards
Track record of building lean, effective teams and managing external IT partnerships
Hands-on and collaborative mindset; comfortable leading transformation in a high-growth setting
Experience in private equity-backed businesses or fast-growth environments preferred
