K-12 Mathematics and Science Director
The Attleboro Public School District is seeking a K-12 Mathematics and Science Director. The successful candidate will possess curricular and instructional leadership skills that will actualize the vision and mission of the district, preparing students for college, career, and the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Content Knowledge
Support the development of curriculum and the scope and sequence based on essential knowledge and skills as outlined in the 2017 MA Curriculum Framework for Mathematics Support the development of curriculum and the scope and sequence based on essential knowledge and skills as outlined in the 2016 MA Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Frameworks Make research-based recommendations and model best practices for supporting curricular integration across all content areas Demonstrate successful experiences in designing, implementing, and evaluating curricula Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices Integrate the Attleboro Public Schools Portrait of a Graduate into curriculum Collaboration Establish partnerships with local and area businesses to support Science and Mathematics learning Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with school administrators, department heads/content leads, teachers, the community, and other curriculum related staff Remain informed of state-wide grants, initiatives, and guidelines Professional Development Develop and implement professional learning structures to support staff development and project-based learning opportunities for students Demonstrate successful experience in planning and providing Professional Development Experience and knowledge of Professional Learning Community processes and organization Leadership Guide, support, and evaluate instructional coaches in the implementation of Student Centered Coaching. Oversee the allocation of resources and implementation of curricular programs for math and science programs QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum five (5) years of mathematics or science teaching experience preferred Minimum three (3) years' experience leading other teachers to achieve strong academic results preferred Appropriate certification preferred Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills. Experience implementing effective instructional practices, designing engaging lessons, using data and formative assessment in the classroom. Our Mission
