General Statement:

The Before/Aftercare Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, staffing, and overseeing all aspects of the school's aftercare program. This role ensures the program provides a safe, engaging, and educational environment for students beyond the regular school day.

Major Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a daily and weekly before/aftercare schedule. Hire, train, and supervise before/aftercare staff members. Organize contracts for outside vendors Coordinate arts and crafts, sports, and other enrichment activities. Ensure all aftercare activities align with the school’s mission and educational standards. Communicate regularly with parents and school staff regarding student participation and program updates. Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Provide daily attendance for students and staff Support Dayforce for payment of paraeducators Monitor and implement safety plans and health plans for students Coordinates monthly meeting with staff to ensure accountability with program Create and maintain a budget for the program Supervision of paraeducator staff Perform other duties as assigned by Administration of APPLES Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Commitment to creating schools that provide an education that cultivates productive habits of mind, body, and heart in every student. Effective Communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to understand and follow directions Exhibit good judgement, patience tact and courtesy Working knowledge of and/or demonstrate the ability to learn and implement Operating Systems (i.e. Windows, Chrome); Productivity Software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Google Workspace - Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail; Adobe Acrobat); Communication and Collaboration tools (i.e. Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams); Accounting Software (i.e. Oracle, QuickBooks); Student Information Systems (i.e. Naviance, Power School, CT-SEDS); or any other technology deemed relevant for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended

periods of time to view & operate computer equipment, and to stand for extended periods of time

to assist student(s) and/or staff.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop and kneel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move students with proper transfer techniques from

standers, beds, walkers, wheelchairs, etc., as a team.

Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds Have the physical capacity to restrain or seclude students in an emergency situation to maintain

the safety of the student or another individual.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, and the ability to

adjust focus.

Hear and speak to exchange information in person and on the telephone. Ability to observe, listen and speak to students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Teacher Certification 113, 112, 065 (092 preferred)

Such additions and alternative to the above qualifications as may be approved and acceptable

Work Year:

Work Year- As per bargaining agreement

Work Hours:

Must be here by 7:15 a.m. daily and stay until 4:45 p.m. or when all students are picked up

Compensation:

Per SEA Contract - With Student Rate
