Position Overview
As the Director, Counsel – Real Estate, you will represent the Company in the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real estate. You should be familiar with anchor and junior anchor tenant leasing, as well as negotiating collateral documents such as guaranty, recognition, non-disturbance agreements, and estoppels.
A Day In The Life
Lead negotiations and documentation of shopping center leases, including title, environmental, deed, easement, and mortgage issues.
Negotiate and draft leases, subleases, waivers, restrictions, and collateral documents.
Manage real estate deals from LOI to lease signing and store opening.
Coordinate due diligence, advise on legal risks, and improve deal processes.
Partner with internal teams, outside counsel, and officials.
You'll Come With
JD from an accredited law school, member of at least one state bar (experience in CA preferred).
Ability to obtain New Jersey in-house certification.
5+ years negotiating shopping center leases, especially retail leasing.
Experience in law firm or corporate retail/REIT environment preferred.
Knowledge of various real estate transactions, including shopping centers, malls, urban, multi-level, and stand-alone properties.
High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Pay Range:
$150,000 - $190,000
