Job Summary

We are looking for someone to lead our efforts across all our products and technologies. This role has high potential to evolve into a more senior leadership position based on impact and performance over time. The current leadership consists of the CEO and then 3 Directors (Client Software, Integrations, and Tech and Mobile) along with product/QA leads for the three groups.

Up until now, the heavy load of roadmap and product design has fallen almost entirely to the CEO. The technical directors do a great job over their areas, but they control the how to do what they do, but not the why. We need a leader to build a process to capture the business needs, prioritize them, then build/follow a process to execute successfully. It’s time for the company to not be reliant on any individual and be reliant on the process.

Responsibilities

The person in this role needs to do the following in Year 1:

First 3 months: Evaluate all teams and processes. For current products (Call this Track 1): Create/implement detail plans with underlying process docs on exactly how software is determined, developed, tested, and delivered. Maximize how we get product out the door with our current teams Months 3-6: Determine approach to develop a new web-based product to provide a Master Catalog ability to add/update items and recipes to instance of Yellow Dog Inventory Months 6-9: Execute on the Master Catalog. Begin planning and budgets for Next Gen (Track 2) of Yellow Dog Inventory Months 9-12: Begin Next Gen development Year 2: Develop Next Gen product Year 3: Complete Next Gen product, launch MVP end of Year 3 Year 4: Complete all Next Gen product development

Track 1 will continue driving revenue in the near term, while Track 2 sets the foundation for the next decade. The goal is to sunset Track 1 within 3–4 years.
