Safety Software Engineer Benefits:

Uncleared must be able to obtain TS in the future. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with leadership capabilities to join our team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who can guide a team of junior engineers while contributing to the design and development of safety-certified software systems. The position requires strong skills in
C++, Python, and Linux , with prior experience leading projects aligned with safety standards such as
DO-178 or DO-278 . The successful candidate will play a critical role in mentoring a growing team, driving technical decisions, and ensuring software quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership to a team of junior software engineers. Design, develop, and maintain safety-critical software in C++ and Python for Linux-based systems. Oversee software development activities to meet DO-178/DO-278 safety certification standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems and hardware engineering. Drive technical reviews, establish best practices, and ensure code quality. Support project planning, task allocation, and progress tracking for engineering deliverables. Required Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (MS preferred). Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Strong proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux environments. Prior experience as a Team Lead or Senior Engineer mentoring junior developers. Experience with safety-certified software development (DO-178 or DO-278). Seniority level
