Financial Controller - Engineering - M&A We’re seeking a dynamic finance professional to lead all aspects of financial operations and strategy for a growing, multi-entity organization. As the first corporate-level finance hire, you’ll play a critical role in building and scaling the finance infrastructure while supporting acquisitions, integrations, and ongoing financial reporting. This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership role ideal for someone eager to help shape a high-growth platform from the ground up. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting:
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP. Post-Acquisition Integration:
Lead financial integrations for new acquisitions, including ERP implementation, accounting standard alignment, and consolidation. Financial & KPI Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial and operational analyses (variance, trend, cost) and manage weekly KPI reporting to internal stakeholders. Cash Management:
Forecast and manage cash flows to ensure liquidity across the organization. Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure regulatory compliance, tax filings, and financial disclosures. Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the budgeting process and provide ongoing financial performance updates and variance reporting. ERP Oversight:
Manage ERP data accuracy, streamline reporting and audit preparation, and drive system automation improvements. Process Improvement:
Identify and implement efficiencies across financial operations. Cost Optimization:
Analyze cost structures and recommend savings initiatives to senior leadership. Lender Relations:
Serve as the primary liaison with financial institutions, ensuring timely reporting and covenant compliance. Payroll Oversight:
Supervise payroll processes for accuracy and compliance. Team Management:
Collaborate with bookkeeping and financial teams at each entity to standardize and elevate accounting practices. M&A Support:
Partner with Heritage on acquisition diligence, opening balance sheets, net working capital, and tax/valuation analysis. Special Projects:
Lead or contribute to strategic finance initiatives, including systems integrations and cross-entity financial projects. Qualifications: CPA preferred with 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and M&A within multi-entity or roll-up environments. Strong knowledge of GAAP and project-based accounting; percent-of-completion (PoC) accounting experience highly valued. Proven experience in high-growth, fast-paced, private equity-backed environments. Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in QuickBooks and ERP systems (Sage experience a plus). Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable building from scratch and working through ambiguity. Willingness to travel to portfolio companies to support on-the-ground finance teams. #45115 Seniority level
