Director, Performance Management

Location: Slalom (Virtual)

Position Summary

Slalom is seeking a

Director of Performance Management

to redefine how we cultivate, measure, and enable performance globally across our people and business. This leader plays a critical role in our Global Talent Management CoE and will drive and implement a bold, systemic reimagining of performance — deeply rooted in human-centered design, equity, and the evolving realities of work in Professional Services. This individual will also serve as a key partner across other Talent Management solutions, fostering alignment and synergy globally to amplify Slalom's people strategy and collective success.

This leader will shape a performance experience that goes beyond traditional promotion— illuminating diverse pathways for career progression, capability development, and personal impact — all while aligning with Slalom’s business priorities, inclusive culture, and future-facing strategy.

What You’ll Do

Performance Strategy & Design

Lead the evolution of Slalom’s global performance strategy integrating continuous feedback, adaptive goal setting, and clear contribution models. Ensure Slalom’s performance practices create clarity for our team members around expectations for impact, while fostering ongoing conversations that balance accountability and development. Design for a modern consulting population and internal support functions: team-based, dynamic, and fluid — recognizing value creation across varied client and internal contexts.

Career Progression & Growth Pathways

Expand the definition of professional growth at Slalom by creating and scaling multi-dimensional career progression pathways — including promotion milestones, progressive skill mastery, lateral development, internal mobility, and community leadership. Align performance insights with talent and capability strategies to unlock growth for all — not just the few — and mitigate reliance on single-track advancement models. Ensure transparency and fairness in how decisions around advancement are made, understood, and supported by feedback.

Performance Culture & Enablement

Drive, scale and enable a feedback philosophy that promotes clarity, compassion, and credibility — rooted in real-time insights and meaningful dialogue. Embed feedback as a daily, cultural practice across the organization — not limited to formal cycles — enabling every employee to grow through context-rich, actionable input. Design tools, rituals, enablement, and leadership expectations that build confidence, consistency, and equity in how feedback is delivered and received. Provide business leaders with the tools and methodologies necessary to enhance their ability to identify and acknowledge differentiated performance within their teams. Curate and drive continuous refinement of targeted programs for top performers to retain, develop, and motivate high-achieving employees.

Systems Thinking & Product Ownership

Own the global Performance experience as a holistic product — integrating philosophy, process, technology, and storytelling to create consistent, human-centered impact. Partner across Talent, Learning, Analytics, and Business Leadership to align feedback and performance with adjacent systems and enterprise priorities. Use data, voice-of-employee, and design feedback loops to continuously improve the relevance and value of performance experiences.

Leadership & Influence

Serve as a people manager—cultivating trust, psychological safety, and inclusive growth opportunities for direct reports through regular, strengths-based feedback and developmental conversations. Coach senior leaders and people managers in our business to lead feedback-rich teams, where growth and performance are discussed regularly, openly, and equitably. Facilitate cultural readiness for evolving how we define and measure success, especially in the face of change, ambiguity, and innovation. Foster shared ownership of feedback and performance experiences across Slalom through cross-functional communities of practice and scalable storytelling.

What You’ll Bring

10–15+ years of experience in a multinational organization with a focus on Talent, Performance, Leadership Development, or Organizational Effectiveness, with a track record of building systems that drive growth and impact. Demonstrated ability as a well-rounded Talent Management Practitioner, integrating diverse strategies across retention, development, and engagement to foster holistic workforce success. Expertise in designing and scaling feedback frameworks and performance practices in a professional services or consulting context. Knowledge of feedback science, behavior change, adult learning, and systems design — with practical tools to bring them to life in culture. Strong change leadership, influencing, and facilitation skills; able to align stakeholders around bold ideas and long-term cultural shifts. Comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, and iteration — balanced by a bias for clarity, equity, and sustainable design.
