As the Vice President of Technology Services, you will be a key partner in designing and implementing organizational standards and procedures for the utilization of information technology systems. You will partner directly with talented, caring, and compassionate employees and work under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer. You will also work closely with organizational leaders to develop and implement long-term strategies, ensuring secure, efficient, and cost-effective information technology platforms and practices are utilized across the organization.
Our Technology Services Department located in Glendale, CA is responsible for supporting 13 Forest Lawn locations throughout Southern California.
Key Job Responsibilities/ What You’ll Be Doing (ie. Job Duties)
Establishes communication channels across technical and business functions of the organization to decide on common goals for information systems. Reviews technology initiative outcomes with management and aligns teams on target metrics for operational efficiency. Provides leadership, direction and management of the Technology Services department which includes Network and Security, Project Management, FL Connect Platform, and Data Operations. Develop short and long-term applications development IT strategies, including development process improvement, hardware/software acquisition/upgrade, and integration based on information from senior management and industry trends. Shares knowledge of technology risks identifies opportunities for the use of technology to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness for the organization. Remains abreast on new developments in information systems technology and plans for future upgrades and organizational changes. Monitors government regulations applicable to systems operations and ensures corporate compliance. Coordinates the implementation of the installation and operation of information systems and equipment. Reviews and evaluates technology and project feasibility studies based on management's requirements and priorities. Achieves desired results through the use of budgets, proper contracts, and efficient decision making. Manages several direct reports, often including department heads. Accountable for cybersecurity and safeguarding customer, employee and organization data. Direct the continuous and secure operation, administration and maintenance of the organization’s computing and networking infrastructure, including participation in the organization’s multi-disciplinary task force charged with designing and implementing an information security and privacy plan, disaster recovery plan, and business continuity plan. Build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives, support everyone's efforts to succeed, and recognize accomplishments of other team members. Actively serve as a mentor and coach. Mentor team members in their development, coach them in their roles, and model the desired behaviors for IT personnel by consistently demonstrating service excellence principles and behavioral expectations. Understand all basic functions performed within Forest Lawn’s major systems and ancillary databases. Actively research ways to improve application or configuration related services to customers. Provides strategic recommendations to Chief Financial Officer regarding technology, policies and programs and assists in their implementation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year college. Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Information Systems management. 15+ years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments. Minimum 5-8 years of experience managing teams responsible for strategic IT planning, applications development, cybersecurity, and technology infrastructure. Valid California Driver's License. Demonstrated expertise in delivering sophisticated Data, Digital, and IT solutions that have become business enablers. Excellent leadership skills required as well as the ability to lead and work as part of a team. Experience effectively managing relationships with internal business partners, service partners, and vendors. Ability to decompose IT services into the base competencies and capabilities required to deliver them. Ability to explain technology to non-technical people and exhibit the board presence necessary to successfully instill confidence and interact with the risk management committee of the board of directors. Possess knowledge of the issues surrounding data security. Strong background in network infrastructure for voice and data. Financial discipline, including budget and investment planning and ongoing management of financial performance to plan for operating expenses and projects.
