What to Expect with this role:
Lead a program within the GDLS Air Defense portfolio to deliver world-class capability to the warfighter and pursue opportunities to expand business within Air Defense.
Create and implement a strategy for seeking out adjacent and new business opportunities by understanding and aligning to customer needs.
People Leader
Manage a team of individuals responsible for delivering the program on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality and performance parameters by organizing, coordinating, and directing all activities for high-complexity programs in conjunction with all required functional organizations.
Define the strategy and objectives to successfully deliver the program, considering the company's strategic objectives, while complying with customer and contractual requirements.
Manage project scope and ensure that changes are documented and approved within the contractual scope and financial terms. Review proposals, contracts, and modifications to ensure scope is consistent with final negotiations to balance program risk and maintain margins.
Develop and implement a proactive risk management plan for assigned programs, including resource gap identification and mitigation planning, integrating reporting and governance.
Ensure effective communication throughout the program team and with all stakeholders, leading planning efforts and resolving conflicts across projects.
Measure and improve program performance through regular reviews and by challenging the team to develop efficient methods for achieving requirements.
Maintain superior customer relationships and work within budgets to establish ROMs and firm pricing as necessary.
Seek out opportunities to capture new and adjacent business, including opportunity identification, capture strategy development, customer engagement, competitive analysis, solution development, proposal and pricing strategy management, and conducting gate reviews and presentations.
Qualifications Sought:
Experience within the DoD and Defense industry; Air Defense experience strongly preferred.
Experience in program management, leading teams through proposal and execution lifecycle.
Knowledge of full lifecycle capture efforts, including opportunity identification, RFP assessment, teaming, negotiations, and proposal development.
Experience in coaching and mentoring staff, facilitating conflict resolution, and bringing a global view to the Program Management Office.
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline preferred; will consider other disciplines with relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to Oracle Applications, Teamcenter, TIPQA.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for internal and external engagements.
Support program control in planning, budgeting, and execution.
Strategic thinking skills.
Additional Information / Desired Experience
This position requires eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible.
Ability to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies; strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; effective in team and individual settings.
Availability for evening and weekend overtime as required.
