( *in collaboration with AbbVie ) About the Role: Responsible for conducting engineering research and tasks necessary to develop chemical processes, supporting scale-up and manufacturing of small molecule drug substances. Your contributions (include, but not limited to): Execute engineering research for chemical process development, scale-up, and manufacturing of small molecule drug substances Provide engineering support to the Chemical Development department Design and execute activities for Chemical Development projects from preclinical through commercial stages Perform engineering-focused process R&D including thermal hazard analysis, crystallization, flow chemistry, and DOE Support kilo-lab operations and maintain chemical development instrumentation Document R&D work and support off-site synthesis and manufacturing activities Ensure laboratory safety Requirements: BS/BA in chemical engineering or similar with 4+ years in pharmaceutical/process development OR MS/MA in chemical engineering or similar with 3+ years' experience OR PhD in chemical engineering or similar with 2+ years industry experience Ability to build excellent working relationships & maintain confidentiality Proficiency with laboratory equipment/tools Strong scientific and engineering knowledge Computer skills and problem-solving ability Detail-oriented with project management capabilities Effective communication and presentation skills Preferred: cGMP manufacturing knowledge Drug substance process development experience Mechanical inclination #LI-DM1 Neurocrine Biosciences is an

Compensation depends on location, responsibilities, experience, and skills.
