The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the financial health and strategic planning of The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. and will report to and partner with the President to develop and implement financial strategies that support and drive the growth of the business and build a business with an enduring strategy to deliver solid returns. They will provide leadership and direction in all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will exemplify entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrate exceptional leadership in financial controls and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain executive responsibility for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures taxes, budget, and general accounting. Develop and direct financial plans to the strategic business plan, company growth, and market opportunities and direction. Drives the thinking around important financial decision making around revenue and EBITDA growth. Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures. Work with Trilon finance leadership to create efficient cash management strategies. Set up and/or oversee all financial and operational controls and KPIs within the organization. Analyze current and future business operations and plans to determine financial effectiveness. Prepare financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, and taxing entity requirements. Partner with Trilon finance and M&A to coordinate, leverage systems and processes to create the best outcomes for the company and integration with the broader Trilon. Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Partner closely with Trilon Group leadership and the financial leadership of other partner firms in the Trilon family to set a collaborative and holistic approach to Trilon’s financial needs, including financial reporting, audit and other compliance requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
With a minimum of 10+ years of experience, preferably within professional services, you will bring deep expertise in financial management and strategic planning to lead our finance department and provide valuable insights to our executive leadership team.
10+ years of progressive experience within senior-level finance roles in a medium or large-size company (relevant AEC or professional services industry experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or MBA (Master of Business Administration) Strong knowledge of all aspects of US GAAP; experience in public accounting preferred Experience managing an audit Capability for budget development and forecasting Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and people skills Ability to strategize and solve problems M&A financial integration exposure Understanding of fixed-price/lump-sum, T&M contracts, and other common AEC contract types is preferred Tools: Knowledge of Deltek Vision and excel proficiency preferred
