WCCU Credit Union JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Vice President of Mortgage & Lending Services will
be responsible for oversight, leadership and driving the strategic
direction of the mortgage lending and consumer operations departments.
This position will play a critical role in enhancing our lending
portfolio, building relationships with members and other stakeholders,
and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They also will
work closely with senior management to align the lending function with
the overall strategic goals of the credit union and drive growth in the
mortgage and consumer loan portfolios. Principal Duties and
Responsibilities: Implement the strategic direction for mortgage and
consumer lending operations related activities in conjunction with
strategic growth and financial profitability plans developed by
executive management team by translating business strategies into
workable operational tactics and activities. Responsible for the overall
direction, coordination, and evaluation of all mortgage lending and
consumer lending operations within the credit union. Overseeing the
organizing, planning and delegation of day-to-day operations for the
organization and playing a crucial role in all aspects of the mortgage
lending growth and operations. Responsible for maintaining and
developing policies and procedures to comply with all state and federal
regulations as well as secondary market lending while also ensuring the
policies and procedures facilitate efficient and effective business
practices. Manage product implementation, administration, and growth of
department. Oversight of loan operations and configuration of loan
systems. Responsible for the origination, underwriting, closing,
funding, and servicing processes/functions. Working with internal and
external auditors on reviews of the direct, indirect and mortgage
portfolios. Analyze loan portfolio data to determine the impact on
financial decisions, results, and the level of success, compare activity
with predetermined objectives and initiates the revised processes
required to continuously improve lending productivity, efficiency, and
profitability. Recommends service and product enhancements to maximize
lending production and efficiency. Develops and manages the risk-based
lending program and underwriting standards consistent with credit unions
risk tolerance. Work with marketing and member service teams to promote
lending products effectively. Ensure exceptional member service in all
lending operations by streamlining processes and reducing turnaround
times. Works with collections on member delinquency, trends and changing
regulations. Approve or deny loans for consumer or mortgage that are
processed by lenders based on credit worthiness of the applicant.
Prepare monthly lending reports for Chief Lending Officer to summarize
WCCU lending activities for the month. Oversee the relationship with
third party for sale of WCCU lending protection products to members and
additional implementation of secondary products to members. Managerial
Responsibilities: Supervises and coordinates activities of employees
engaged in the credit union\'s consumer and mortgage lending functions.
Utilize Integrity Coaching to provide consistent coaching, development,
and performance review. Also provide continuous feedback and
reinforcement of policies and procedures. Travel to branch locations to
work with staff for training purposes as well as following procedures &
remaining compliant with regulatory updates. Plans, prepares, and
schedules staff, according to budgets and workloads to maintain proper
staffing & ensure smooth daily operations. Maintains a highly motivated,
well-trained staff and establishes effective employee relations. In
cooperation with your leader (and in consultation with Human Resources),
take responsibility for hiring, training, coaching, and discharging of
staff. Welcomes new staff members to the department. Develo & maintain
a budget. Ensures each staff member receives proper orientation,
training, coaching and cross-training to ensure quality service.
Communicates with other departments and management to resolve problems
and expedite work. Interprets and communicates work procedures and
company policies to staff. Resolves complaints and answers questions of
others regarding services and procedures. Develops & maintains
constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Reviews
and checks work of staff for accuracy and content. Provides additional
training where needed. Makes recommendations to management concerning
staff and improvement of procedures. Requisitions supplies as needed for
the department. Assists staff in handling complex situations. Schedules
and facilitates regular staff meetings. Ensures that the appearance of
the department is neat, organized, and in accordance with Credit Union
policy. Ensures that all confidential records in the work area are
properly secured each day. Work Relationships and Scope: Reports
directly to the Chief Lending Officer. Will have regular contact with
management, vendors, members and employees of the Lending Department.
Performance Dimensions: Must maintain the integrity of confidential
business information and follow all guidelines on confidentiality.
Provide outstanding services to co-workers & members. Possess the
ability to attend to numerous details with frequent interruptions under
the stress of maintaining courteous, effective, and timely relations
with a variety of individuals and personalities. Promotes quality,
accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed.
Is punctual, flexible, reliable, and demonstrates a friendly and helpful
attitude. Possess ability to gain the trust and respect of members,
management, and employees. Also maintains a positive, professional,
team-oriented working relationship with staff and outside vendors.
Enhance job growth through continuing education, as required or
necessary. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of
5 years of experience in lending or financial services industry, with a
strong track record of performance in progressively senior roles. At
least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial position,
including experience in managing teams, projects, and cross-functional
relationships. Proven experience in portfolio management, credit risk
assessment, and financial product development. Experience in regulatory
compliance within the financial sector. Strong supervisory and
Leadership Skills Required To Manage, Motivate, And Develop Employees.
Knowledge of consumer and mortgage policies, procedures, products, and
services. Ability to be an analytical problem solver and decision maker.
Strong technical abilities to be able to be an administrator for lending
programs and reporting. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive
data relating to members. Ability to work with a wide range of
personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner. Knowledge
and ability to apply current financial service industry standards, laws,
and regulations. Ability to present ideas, report facts and other
information clearly and concisely. Basic knowledge of the Microsoft
Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficient operation of a
variety of general office equipment such as a computer, software
applications, typewriter, copier, calculator, telephone, copy machine,
fax machine and other similar devices or programs related to the
