(pay will be determined based on experience, preferred qualifications, and education)

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Behavioral Health Strategic Initiatives, the Strategic Project Manager School District Initiatives will assist in the development and monitoring of operational strategies for successful interface between school districts and Stony Brook Medicine. This includes supporting the Director with operations, compliance, employee engagement, turnover, financial results, patient, family and school personnel experience and clinical quality. The Strategic Project Manager will assist in business plan development, statistical and financial analysis, project management and other functions as required.

The Strategic Project Manager, School District Initiatives, in addition to the specific responsibilities noted below, will also assist the Director by leading key projects in support of short and long-term strategies determined by enterprise leadership. As the structure and scope of school district initiatives at Stony Brook Medicine will evolve over time, it is anticipated that the scope and assignments of this position may change accordingly

Job Duties & Essential Functions

Provide support to the Director in coordinating relevant school district initiatives, including collaboration across Stony Brook Childrens Hospital/Stony Brook Medicine entities. Manage school district contract activities and operations, including department and school district interface, improving patient/family access and patient/family/school experience. Manage interface between school district initiatives and facilities, IT, human resources, and planning. Support the development and implementation of associated policy and procedures among stakeholders. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts are reviewed and appropriately renewed each year with any necessary and approved changes. Support the director in maximizing resources to improve financial performance. Ensure facilities and office equipment are fully operational, and recommendations on capital equipment purchases. All other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a relevant healthcare or business field. Five (5) or more years full-time, progressively responsible administrative experience, with demonstrated capacity for leadership. Experience working in healthcare, disability services and/or educational environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. Strong analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in with Microsoft Office Suite and strong background in Excel. Capacity for local travel and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree or higher in a relevant healthcare or business field. Previous experience within the field of behavioral health Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, executive management, staff and community stakeholder groups.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position will require local travel in Suffolk County, visiting school districts and various Stony Brook clinical sites, which includes the physical demands associated with driving
