The Manager of Trade and Consumer Events is responsible for the strategic development, planning, and execution of events that engage both trade partners and consumers to drive awareness, education and sales for MSC Cruises USA. This role will oversee a variety of events, including tradeshows, conferences, product launches, familiarization cruises, and public activations, both shoreside and shipboard. The role will be responsible for overseeing a high-performing team of event professionals, ensuring seamless delivery of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events that drive business objectives and elevate the company’s presence in the industry. The Manager ensures effective resource allocation, budget management, vendor negotiations, and policy implementation while delivering innovative event experiences that align with organizational goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong operational acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Your Impact
Work with senior leadership on strategy, policy and projects relating to Meetings & Events Oversee a team of Meetings & Events professionals in their day-to-day activities related to supporting internal and external client activities Planning, developing and coordinating Trade local, regional and national events industry events, Corporate Events, Webinars and Consumer Event Responsible for all aspects of event management, including coordinating travel for staff, site selection of event, negotiations of contracts, set up of function space, booth set up and audio-visual production requirements Consult with project teams and other internal clients to conceptualize and design events based on their needs in all execution formats: in-person, hybrid, and virtual Initiate RFP (Request for Proposal), RFQ (Request for Quotation), RFI (request for information) Coordination and Management of Volunteers and Employees of all events Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and staying within budget. Track and analyze event expenses and provide post-event show reports and recommendations Collaboration with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product, and executive leadership, to ensure seamless integration of event initiatives with broader company strategies. Implement and maintain Meetings and Event Management policies, procedures, and resources Develop and deliver engaging presentations for both trade and consumer events. Other duties as assigned by Manager
Your Journey so far
5+ years of event planning 3+ managing matrixed teams Experience in managing all aspects of an event from initial planning to execution, supporting events ranging from 10 to 2,500+ attendees Proven track record of building relationships with vendors and industry professionals Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and details simultaneously
Your Essentials
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management or similar degree with event planning experience; Travel Industry a plus
Travel Mandatory including weekends - 30% Travel
Advanced Skills: MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Hybrid Role - in Miami Office 3X per week
