Job Description

This position reports directly to the Facility Security Officer. The Industrial Security Access Control Specialist is responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate processing of personnel requiring access to military installations, vessels, and other defense contractor shipyards. This position may also be assigned as a Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) alternate custodian. Applicants must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire. Investigations & Clearance Process Key Responsibilities Support employees access to military installations, vessels, and other defense contractor shipyards in support of BIWs businesses. Verify and pass security clearance information to U.S. Navy/Government partners for all program personnel traveling on behalf of BIWs surface ship support contracts. Management of DISS and DBIDS and equivalent systems including access verification and visit authorization for all employee categories at BIW. Submit shipboard access requests and coordinate with federal authority sponsors. Coordinate international travel request processes on behalf of BIW through APACS and IATP platforms and secure sponsor approval and operational clearance. Implement operating procedures to align with evolving contractual obligations and mission-specific security travel requirements. Conduct travel briefings with personnel traveling on behalf of BIW, activity will involve conducting security briefs, debriefs, and provide guidance to travelers. Assist in the development of security plans and procedures using the 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), as well as any other specific programmatic instruction manuals. Interpret and enforce relevant Government and company policies as well as provide direction and guidance to employees. Ensure adherence to marking, handling, controlling, removing, transporting, sanitizing, reusing, and destroying media and equipment containing controlled and/or classified information. Assist the KMI Account Manager with COMSEC operations including but not limited to:

Attend and successfully pass the Management Client Operator Training Course. The proper storing and accounting of cryptographic materials. The issuance to cryptographic materials to local elements. Other such duties as an alternate COMSEC custodian.

Interface with program managers and maintain strong relationships with Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA), NAVSEA, and SUPSHIP. Required/Preferred Education/Training

High school diploma or GED required. Required/Preferred Experience

Must be able to receive and maintain a final Secret clearance. The ability to receive and maintain a final Top-Secret Clearance is preferred. Prior experience in Industrial Security and the protection of controlled and classified information is preferred. Working knowledge of compliance and guidance using the National Industrial Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM) is preferred. KMI/COMSEC Certification is preferred. Experience with DISS, NBIS, and SIMS systems is preferred.
