Job Description
Seeking a motivated and technically capable Solution Engineer to support solution design and implementation activities for enterprise IT initiatives within the AOUSC. Working under the guidance of Solution Architects and senior technical leaders, the Solution Engineer will play a hands-on role in helping to translate business and technical requirements into integrated, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute to solution planning, prototyping, integration, and documentation across cloud, data, and application environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development and implementation of technical solutions aligned to enterprise architecture and AOUSC IT strategy.
• Assist Solution Architects in evaluating technology options and translating requirements into high-level and detailed solution designs.
• Contribute to system and service integration efforts, including configuration, testing, and documentation.
• Participate in technical assessments, gap analyses, and the development of prototypes or proof-of-concepts.
• Support the development of solution artifacts such as architecture diagrams, interface specifications, configuration guides, and support documentation.
• Help assess the technical feasibility of new requests or emerging needs from business and IT stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, security engineers, business analysts, and operations staff.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, support backlog grooming, and contribute to sprint planning.
• Assist with issue resolution, change management, and impact analysis across related systems or services.
• Ensure compliance with AOUSC technical standards, security requirements, and governance policies.
Required Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2-4+ years of experience in IT solution development, implementation, or systems engineering.
• Familiarity with enterprise IT environments, especially involving cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), middleware, or COTS integration.
• Working knowledge of systems design, data flow, APIs, and software development lifecycle.
• Basic proficiency in scripting or development (e.g., Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or Bash).
• Experience supporting solution design efforts or collaborating with solution architects is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in federal environments, judiciary systems, or similar public sector organizations is desirable.
