Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in collecting blood specimens for diagnostic testing. Serving a high-volume patient site, the PSR II is responsible for ensuring accuracy, safety, and professionalism in every interaction. This position supports both routine health visits and essential medical evaluations, helping patients and providers make informed health decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections following strict safety protocols
  • Confirm patient identity and ensure all specimens are properly labeled in the patient's presence
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to confidentiality and regulatory standards
  • Serve a broad range of patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations
  • Adapt to multiple site locations and flexible work hours, including potential weekends and holidays
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and compassion at all times
  • Work independently with minimal supervision in high-volume clinical settings
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Follow all company policies, including dress code, health and safety, and quality guidelines
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment
  • Keyboard and data entry proficiency
  • Pediatric phlebotomy experience in a high-volume setting (2+ years) is required
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training
  • Flexibility to cover multiple phlebotomy locations as needed
Required Skills:
  • Advanced phlebotomy skills, especially for pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong self-direction and reliability
Preferred Skills:
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Dependable transportation with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of HIP nd patient privacy standards
  • Team-oriented with a positive, patient-focused attitude
Additional Skills:
  • Experience with electronic records and specimen documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime
  • Comfort with dynamic healthcare settings and working independently
