Paraeducator Role
A substitute paraeducator is a vital member of the educational team, providing support to students with special needs in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students, fostering academic growth and understanding.
- Assist the classroom teacher with management and supervision of the class, ensuring a smooth learning experience.
- Support administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials, promoting efficiency in the classroom.
- Supervise students in various settings, including the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and during before and after-school programs, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, demonstrating compassion and care.
- Support students with special needs, tailoring assistance to meet their unique requirements.
- Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration, showcasing flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proficient English language skills are necessary, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
