Senior Manager of Operations – Foodservice Distribution

| On-Site About the Role A newly acquired division of a well-established regional food distributor is seeking a
Senior Manager of Operations
to lead end-to-end warehouse and distribution functions at a
50,000 sq. ft. multi-temperature facility
(refrigerated, frozen, ambient). This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing
24/7 operations with weekday outbound shipping , focused on driving safety, efficiency, and team development through clear KPIs. Ideal candidates bring proven leadership experience in
food distribution or logistics
and thrive in high-accountability, fast-paced environments. Bonus if you've scaled or restructured facility operations from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Distribution Operations Oversee receiving, shipping, inventory control, and quality assurance across all temperature zones Drive continuous improvement in workflows and processes Lead and mentor supervisors and warehouse teams across shifts Ensure compliance with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and OSHA regulations Team Leadership & Development Build a high-performing, accountable team through training, coaching, and performance management Design staffing plans to support 24/7 operational coverage Foster a culture of ownership, efficiency, and continuous improvement Performance Management & Strategy Develop and manage KPIs for productivity, accuracy, inventory integrity, and safety Leverage WMS, ERP, and labor management systems to track performance and drive improvements Identify and address process bottlenecks to improve flow, space utilization, and fulfillment accuracy Facility Oversight & Growth Support Ensure the facility is optimized for current and future operational needs Support integration of legacy systems and personnel into modern operational frameworks Bring expertise in launching or scaling warehouse operations, including SOP development and infrastructure planning Qualifications Required 3+ years in warehouse or distribution leadership Experience in foodservice or wholesale distribution, including multi-temperature environments Strong understanding of inventory systems, quality control, food safety (HACCP/FSMA), and labor management Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage 24/7 operations Experience building or launching new facilities or operational teams Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies Proficiency with WMS/ERP systems and warehouse automation technologies Experience managing through growth and organizational change Compensation Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and seniority)
