The Lodge at Mount Snow in West Dover, VT is seeking a General Manager to lead the re-opening and phased transformation of the property into a LOGE Camps location. Position Overview
The Lodge at Mount Snow in West Dover, VT is seeking a General Manager to lead the re-opening and phased transformation of the property into a LOGE Camps location.
This is a unique opportunity to guide a hotel through an exciting new chapter — reopening operations while simultaneously overseeing a phased renovation and rebranding to align with the LOGE Camps experience. Located just a half mile from the Mount Snow ski lifts and nestled in the heart of southern Vermont’s Green Mountains, the property is perfectly positioned to become a vibrant basecamp for year-round outdoor adventure.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditure Maintaining statistical and financial records Setting and achieving sales and profit targets Recruiting, training, and monitoring staff Planning work schedules for individuals and teams Meeting and greeting customers Dealing with customer complaints and comments Addressing problems and troubleshooting Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations, and furnishings Dealing with contractors and suppliers Ensuring security is effective Carrying out inspections of property and services Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations All other duties as assigned
Skills Needed
A love for showing people a good time, with a host mindset and a deep sense of responsibility for every detail of the guest experience. An entrepreneurial spirit and have the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment. An ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, and to lead a team to do the same. A low tolerance for workplace drama, and a frank, forthright, and tactful communication style. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to remain positive and effectively deal with stressful situations, including jumping in and getting your hands dirty. A leadership approach that focuses on listening and on setting employees up for success. A willingness to share best practices, and learn new ways of doing things. A demonstrated ability to make good judgement calls, and a track record of operating with integrity. Previous experience traveling, exploring, adventuring and staying in a variety of hotel, hostel, and campground locations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field, preferred 4+ years managing a mid-size hotel property (50-100 room), as an AGM or GM with direct reports Experience leading a renovation preferred 3+ years managing a food and beverage program. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Products, hospitality software. Fluent in English. Bilingual a plus! Must have, or be able to obtain, Washington State Food Handler Card. Must have, or be able to obtain, Alcohol Servers Permit. All crew members are subject to a background check.
